Today, August 10th, in the wild year of 2020, is my 25th birthday. Yes, I’m a 90’s baby and proud of it. Here are a few things I’ve learned over the years.
- Simplicity is key. Simplify.
- Work with nature, not against it.
- Have a life mission. It’ll wake you up every morning.
- Create values in many categories of life, and making decisions will be much easier.
- Don’t worry about fitting in. If you don’t fit in, that means you’re unique, and that’s attractive.
- Own less stuff. Minimalism is freeing.
- It’s ok to question everything. It’s easy for culture and the mainstream to sculpt our beliefs without even knowing it.
- Every person that lives on planet earth should contribute in some way, big or small, to heal and protect the health of the planet. It’s the home of future generations.
- Your dollar is your vote. Become aware of who/what you’re supporting. Spend it wisely.
- Look to the rhythms of nature. Seasonality is a beautiful and healthy thing.
- Authority isn’t always right and breaking the rules is important and even essential sometimes.
- Everyone has different learning styles.
- Sustainability needs to be a top priority, in all aspects of life.
- Support regenerative organic agriculture to save our food system, our land and planet, the wildlife, and our health.
- Time flies when every day looks the same. Slow down time by breaking the script and creating more memories.
- Introverts, don’t try to overdo it for the extroverts in your life. We need you at your best. Enjoy your solitude to recharge.
- Books are the equivalent to thousands of years of knowledge.
- Knowledge is not power until you use it. – Jim Kwik
- You can train yourself to do anything, be anything, think anything, like anything. You can even train yourself to love a food you used to hate. Nothing is set in stone.
- Your genes are not the end of your story. Lifestyle choices can rewrite those genes.
- Your story is a valuable art. Share it in a creative way. Your way.
- Keep on dreaming, dreamer. Your ideas are a wonderful asset. Just learn to act upon them.
- Intentionally grow 1% every day.
- Thank a farmer. There wouldn’t be french fries if it weren’t for them.
- Bonus: Gratitude. Gratitude. Gratitude. Grateful for 25 years of this thing called life. ✨
